Here we are, showing ways to make 10 on the whiteboard. It's lots of fun to get a turn!
Today during Family Time, the boys and girls saw a short video called "The Ten Little Pigs." It reinforced Habit #5: Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood." They also talked about whole body listening, and the need to be kind to others. They made hearts of kindness to give to their friends, teacher, or family members. They were excited to tell me all about it when they got back to the classroom after visiting with their family! (The children are divided up into different families all over the building during family time. The fifth grade members of their families come to the classroom to pick them up, and then bring them back when family time is over. Families consist of 2-3 students from each grade level, for about 14 children per family.) We LOVE family time!
