Life Without Thumbs

In one of our science lessons this week, we discovered how important our thumbs are! Without opposable thumbs, we would have a lot of trouble doing the things that we do each day!

The children who wanted to try life without thumbs taped their thumbs to the center of their hand. Then they tried to build Lego creations, or draw a picture! After that, we thought of more things to try, like eating our snack, putting on our jackets, using our scissors, and getting ready for lunch. We quickly found out that we need our thumbs!
